Sobre o evento
In 2026, the Manhiça Foundation celebrates three decades of commitment to public health and scientific research, focusing on improving the health of the most vulnerable populations and, consequently, child survival in Mozambique and other low-income contexts. This milestone is an opportunity to reflect on the progress achieved, discuss persistent challenges, and strengthen strategic partnerships around emerging priorities.
The event will be chaired by the President of the Manhiça Foundation, Prof. Martinho Dgedge, and will bring together national and international experts, institutional partners, donors, and government representatives to reflect on current and future challenges in the field of child health. Special attention will be given to the strategic role that research institutions, particularly in Africa, can play in ensuring the survival and well-being of children. In this context, the meeting will also be an opportunity to share the key contributions of CISM and the Manhiça Foundation over the past 30 years, with an emphasis on child health, as well as to raise awareness about the prevention of tuberculosis—the world's most lethal infectious disease—and to highlight scientific advances, especially in vaccine development, through the 1st Manhiça Tuberculosis Initiative (MTBI) Forum.
