Sobre o evento
The aim of this webinar is to create awareness and promote a discussion on the status of ivermectin use against malaria and more specifically on what is currently being done in Mozambique
The Ivermectin Malaria Forum (MIF), was launched in January of this year (2022), and is a platform for information sharing and engagement of key stakeholders in the two countries where the BOHEMIA trial trials are being conducted. Involves committed national leaders to come together to review and discuss emerging ivermectin data from scientific trials, both in BOHEMIA and more broadly. The MIF also identifies national challenges and discusses potential programmatic implementation strategies to align with different sectors and communities.
Although the MIF's focus is malaria, its members are cross-cutting and from different disease groups.
ABOUT THE BOHEMIA PROJECT
BOHEMIA(Broad One Health Endectocide-based Malaria Intervention in Africa) aims to reduce the transmission of malaria through the administration of ivermectin in humans and domestic animals (Livestock). Ivermectin is an endoctocide, a drug with an excellent safety profile that can kill ecto and endoparasites as well as mosquitoes that feed on humans or treated animals.
